Alpha Kappa Alpha is comprised of a nucleus of 390,000 members in graduate and undergraduate chapters in the United States, the U. S. Virgin Islands, the Caribbean, Canada, Japan, Germany, Korea and on the continent of Africa.

Great Lakes Region

The Great Lakes Region was established in 1924 and at that time was composed of eight chapters. Today, we boast of 97 chapters located in Ohio, Michigan, West Virginia, Western Pennsylvania and Western New York. History shows that the Great Lakes Region is an integral part of the very fabric of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated.
